Having recently subscribed to the Virgin Media 50mg service this was so I would get a smother experience when gaming online with my PS3 (mainly COD5) The issue I faced was that I was unhappy about the speed that wireless was creating compared to connecting via Ethernet.
I purchased a pair of Comtrend PG902s for the purpose of connecting my router downstairs to my PS3 that is upstairs. They worked straight out of the box with no need for configuration. They have produced much faster speeds than using wireless and therefore giving me the speeds and experience I wanted when I got the 50mg service in the first place. The product itself seems well designed with two buttons for configuration with the Ethernet port located on the top surface which is a feature that other manufacturers would do well to copy because of the clearance the skirting board if it was facing down.
I would recommend this product to anyone that requires a fast and stable connection. I have purchased a second pair although this time the configuration required me to read and follow the instructions laid out in the manual which was really straight forward.

Bought these after having loads of trouble with the PS3's wireless connection to my BT Home Hub. If my wife's laptop and the PS3 were on at the same time then the PS3 would be continually kicked off. The temporary solution was to run an ethernet cable from the router (upstairs) to the PS3 downstairs and all would be well but this is a little annoying having cables running up the stairs when you want to play online. Plugged these babies in, which configured automatically in seconds and away we go. iPlayer doesn't pause, gaming speed has improved dramatically and I am very happy with both their price and performance. Highly recommended.
Another reviewer mentioned that they would not work if on a different ring main but this is not the case here. They have to run on the same electrical supply phase but will be fine even on a different circuit as in my case (1 upstairs and 1 downstairs).

I bought these as to replace my wireless on my desktop. I went for this model as I had been using the ones given to me by BT for the Vision Box. Only use that for freeview. These were better than the ones BT provided as they have the free plug socket still. Cheaper than on BT shop. Great deal.

These are great value and give a rock solid connection to the router even at a distance where wi-fi would fade out.
I already had a pair and wasn't sure if these would be compatible. I'm pleased to say they are. If you have other Powerline adaptors then you should be able to add these to the ones you already have. One thing though - although they are paired up to each other and will work straight out of the box, if you are planning to use them as extentions to existing Powerline adaptors you have to do a bit of resetting of them to get them to 'speak to' your original ones. There were no instructions in the box I got, but by Googling for the explanation I found several simple walkthroughs straightaway and sorted them out with a few presses of the right buttons.

This is a great item. Very easy to set up (although you will have to go online to get the instructions to combine more than 2 plugs). I use these throughout my home and they are fantastic. My advice would be to buy them if you want high-speed internet access throughout your home.
