5 out of 5 stars good buy   November 20, 2008
good value for money, and has a very long life. I am still using this after 2 years

5 out of 5 stars Never a problem with this   October 12, 2008
Strong enough for the whole house and garden. Found setting it up a bit challenging at first (but that may have to do with me ;-)

5 out of 5 stars Cautious but so far, better than wires!   September 6, 2008
This is day 2 with this router, and so far so good. It is easy to set up (or was when I was given time to work through it quietly!) and has proved simple to use. I like the flexible security settings. We have had no internet drop out and the speed is fine! there is a bit of a buzz from the power supply so we are keeping an eye on it, but otherwise we are very pleased. Better than wires!

4 out of 5 stars Excellent, while it works   September 2, 2008
I've had this router for a couple of years and have had no real complaints. It's easy to set up, stable and hardworking, and works very easily with Xbox Live, unlike a number of others I have tried.
I agree with some of the comments about temperature though, it gets very hot underneath. And yesterday it was working quite happily then the wireless radio just died (maybe because of the heat, who knows). I will probably buy a replacement though, because I don't think there is a better one out there for under 80.

2 out of 5 stars Replacement has failed again after 12 months!   July 31, 2008
My first DG834GT failed after about 12 months and, guess what, the replacement Netgear sent me has done the same. I am not impressed, especially as the Netgear WG811T USB adaptor I previously had caused nothing but trouble (kept dropping the internet connection, requiring a cold reboot each time). I have finally binned the router as well, after trying to get the Netgear helpline to sort it out and, after getting me to hold the line for 20 minutes while they thought about it, they cut me off when I was reconnecting the router per their instructions. I have promised myself that I will never buy another Netgear product, and advise you to do the same.
